Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri has been a popular Indian actress, who gained recognition for her performance in the film Hum Aapke Hin Koun as well as Beta Saajan. In the late 80s, she began her acting career, and was well-known for the character Tezaab in which she appeared with the veteran actor Anil Kapooor. Then, she starred alongside Aamir in Dil. As a young child growing up in the middle class of Mumbai, she started to dance. Early in her life, when she started to act as a child actress, most films she produced weren't successful. Eventually she became one the most famous actresses in Indian films. After her wedding, she took an absence from the industry before returning to the industry. In recent times, she was in a prominent performance on the film Gulaab Gang. The film was about struggles faced by women in India. Dixit was awarded fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which, eight were awarded. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honor in India. Also, she is well recognized for her charity work.
