Heidi Klum born Bergisch Gladbach Germany 1st June 1973. Erna Klum is her hairdresser's mom. His father Gunther Klum worked as a cosmetics company executive. Heidi's mother was the production manager at 4711 Parfum. Her hometown was Bergisch Gladbach, a small city with about 100,000 people just six miles away from Cologne was the place where she was raised. She is a former model from Germany and America who performs as a host on TV as well as a fashion producer. Klum's career as a model started in 1992 when Klum was employed at the Dusseldorf Discotheque. Her friend (Karin) was encouraging the young student of 18 to participate in an German television show dubbed Model 92. The German women's publication Petra sponsored the show which was part of Thomas Gottschalk's late-night talk show. Klum was competing against over thousands of contestants from across Germany and Europe up to the point of being one of three semifinalists. In the month of April, 1992, Klum won a Top Model prize of $300,000.
