Ever since she was young she's been extremely keen on playing sports. Gerina began to play golf when she was 15 years old. Gerina completed her high school studies in Goddard High School. She was the winner of New Mexico's state golf championship. The volleyball abilities of her were recognised at a national stage. Her first college was in the University of Texas. She took home all the competitions she participated in during her senior years. During her college career she was awarded the Conference USA Player of The Award and the Female UTEP Sports Athelete Award.
