Julie Chen Moonves hosts the popular summer reality show Big Brother, which returned to its 22nd season from August 5 with CBS.Chen Moonves was one of the original hosts of The Daytime Emmy Award-winning talk show The Talk, serving as moderator and host from 2010 to 2018. Then it was when she started writing that her true passion was revealed. She also won the Emmy award for outstanding host of a talk program. From 2002 to 2010 Chen Moonves was the co-host for CBS News' morning weekday broadcast The Early Show. She was the anchor for The Early Show as well as CBS Morning News. The CBS Television Network broadcasted a half-hour morning news program in the early hours of the morning. Chen Moonves also covered the conflict in Iraq and other significant news stories on The Early Show. She was sent to Cairo after 9/11 and conducted an intimate and fascinating conversation with the father of 9/11's main hijacker. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. She also spoke with former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania. Chen Moonves reported on the Emmy award-winning CBS Sunday Morning program. She profiled celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Betty White, Jamie Foxx Katie Holmes, Scarlett Johansson, Matthew McConaughey, Mel Brooks, Robert deNiro Jennifer Lopez, and Matthew McConaughey. In her final semester at University, she served as an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) as well as producer for ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news channel). She started her career as an assistant for ABC News, working on the late-night show Nightline alongside Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel is still one of Moonves' journalism heroes. Chen Moonves worked with Koppel in the Columbia du-Pont-nominated primetime special, Anatomy of a Riot that examined the 1992 Los Angeles riots.
